Walk With Me

My story is as follows, though it’s kind of sad

How a good man can turn so very bad

The Devil at his shoulder, sin beneath his feet

Drugs and alcohol, a crave he couldn’t beat

He told the good Lord that he’d love Him until the end

But the Devil seemed to be his only friend

He knew the time had come to leave this way behind

He looked up to the skies and saw the eyes of a Man he heard was kind

That man said walk with Me

Take My hand and then you’ll see

What my Father has in store for you

But first you gotta walk with Me

Like an angel you’ll be free

Come my son and join the chosen few

Well how about you?

Then the young man turned his head and walked away

He told himself that Christ could wait another day

The time that followed that had been his living hell

Now he did his screaming from that jail cell

He ran like fire to find that Man he left behind

He looked to the skies and there they were those same eyes of a Man he had known was kind

He still said walk with Me

Take My hand and you’ll see

What my Father has in store for you

First you gotta walk with Me

Like an angel you’ll be free

Come my son and join the chosen few

Well how about you?

How about you, will you take him by the hand

He will help you understand and see inside

How about you, brother wait and see

He can do for you what he’s done for me

How about you, how about you, how about you?

I placed my hand in His and then we walked away

I knew from that day on my life would be Okay.
